Enrichment 25-26

Enrichment sessions / days are vital for our pupils to ignite curiosity in learning and are an opportunity to introduce new vocabulary and learning. We draw on links with Burnley Youth Theatre, specialist teachers and external visitors/instructors support the whole curriculum.

All subject leaders are given training and opportunity to keep developing their own subject knowledge, skills and understanding so they can support curriculum development and their colleagues throughout the school. Theme weeks, whole school activities and opportunities within and outside school all enrich and develop the children's learning and expose them to opportunities which can develop their aspirations.

Our enrichment offer includes; Modern Foreign Language days, trips to the theatre, museums, the local library, participating in singing events, enjoying author visits, visiting local primary and high schools, Burnley college, Burnley Football Club as well as generating local business links. Involvement in (STEM) Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths clubs are just some of the ways we develop learning beyond the classroom. After school clubs and events extend these opportunities further with a range of Intra and inter sporting competitions which help to develop self-confidence and teamwork skills.
